First Annual Celina Garden Club Tour
The Owens Garden
1541 E. Sunset Blvd. Celina, TX
Come ramble through Jim and Susan OwensÂ’ cow pasture! Over the past 23 years they have transformed 2 acres of it into a country garden. Perennial beds burst with color and are accented by ornamental grasses. There are over 150 Earthkind or Griffin Buck roses planted throughout the garden with over 100 Crape Myrtles surrounding the residence. Susan is executive director of The Crape Myrtle Trails of McKinney and a Master Gardener. In 2002 she was a founder of the resurrected Celina Garden Club. Susan has gathered "friendship plants" from many acquaintances and incorporated them into her landscape. The proof of her bubbling energy is reflected by the profusion of happy cuttings taking root in her garden. |
